Stanford Eisenberg Knoxville Jewish Day School (KJDS) is a private non-profit progressive elementary school, driven by the mission to provide students with a rigorous academic program in a joyous atmosphere, rooted in core Jewish values. We're currently hiring for Social Media Interns.
As a 21st century non-profit institution, KJDS understands the critical roles that effective social media and impactful public relations campaigns can play in recruitment of new families as well as retention of our installed base. Our primary objectives are to develop effective public relations campaigns utilizing impactful social media tools for increasing public awareness of the wonderful attributes of KJDS.
Currently enrolled student pursuing a degree related to journalism, electronic media, or similar field of study, and demonstrated experience related to management of social media channels.
Duties and responsibilities will be supported and supervised by Head of School and Board PR and Marketing Chair
Curate content for social media channels
Schedule content for each channel and assure that posts are made in a timely manner
Maintain website content to reflect new social media content
Report to Head of School regarding likes, views, and success of social media campaigns
Organically grow the school’s presence on social media channels through engaging, authentic content and user interactions
Create and maintain social media content (posts, photos, videos, live streams, blogs, and email campaigns) that support the school’s mission, vision and objectives
Manage Facebook and other social channels as necessary
Clear and enthusiastic communication style
Ability to prioritize projects, consistent performance, detail oriented
Familiarity with Google Analytics, Facebook advertising, and all digital reporting
Appreciate and participate in collaborative communication and problem solving
Solid understanding of the digital and social media universe, and the desire and ability to stay up to date and learn new platforms as they become relevant
Excellent spoken and written communication skills
Positive attitude, commitment to high quality work, and strong multi-tasking and organizational ability
Hands-on experiences with public relations, advertising, and marketing concepts/theories learned in the classroom.
Many opportunities to hone their social media skills.
Guidance from a talented and creative staff who are open to innovative and new ideas, as well as marketing professionals on the KJDS board.
Internship can be formatted to fit the requirements to receive college credit
Approximately 3-4 hours per week, flexible schedule.
While some face to face meetings will be necessary, intern can work at an office in our school or from home for most of the work.
